Job overview
The post holder will play a key role in validating, monitoring and managing patient pathways, to ensure a smooth and efficient service for patients throughout their pathway, from referral to treatment, as well as providing excellent administration support primarily for the patients on hold in the surgery care group. These directorates have complex pathways therefore, accuracy and organisation are key.
Successful candidates will be required to manage several pathways within the departments by providing high quality information and analytical support to the care group.
Main duties of the job
Supporting individual/multiple directorates by managing on hold back logs which includes but is not limited to validation, communication with patients, Operational management, secretarial teams and clinicians. You will be required to manage data, book outpatient appointments, chase radiology for scan reports and updating your line manager weekly with progress.
Resolve problems, escalating to the Deputy Service Manager where necessary.
Undertake patient pathway co-ordinator functions such as booking/scheduling and dealing with pathway enquiries.
To support validation and data quality standards within the Trust, raising any data quality issues with the relevant staff.
Work with colleagues to ensure that administrative processes for patients’ pathways meet the quality standards required both nationally and within the directorate and are adhered to.
Ensure patient pathway co-ordinators and other administrative staff performance falls in line with the management of patient pathways and ensuring these tasks are met.
Use the Trust information systems to monitor the patient's pathway progression, monitoring appointments and attendance.
Input and retrieve information from the departmental and/or Trust computer systems in accordance with departmental guidelines.

Education, Qualification & Training
Essential criteria
1. Good general education with English and Maths to GCSE standard or equivalent
2. Educated to diploma level
3. Evidence of some formal further training in short courses, experience of a range of admin practices and with significant experience of hospital administration
4. IT package qualification/ training, e.g. European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
