Location
Kepak St. Merryn in Merthyr Tydfil features combined beef and lamb processing and packing facilities. We offer a range of beef and lamb products, from retail-ready cuts for butchers' counters to branded packaged meat, sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by our master butchers, ensuring quality and integrity.
Working Hours and Pay
This position operates on a 3 days on, 3 days off schedule, from 6am to 6:30pm, with two 40-minute breaks. The hourly rate is £15.92.
Responsibilities
1. Lead team activities and processes within the product staging and supply area.
2. Meet core metrics for safety, quality, people, delivery, and cost.
3. Engage with support functions to achieve area targets.
4. Assist the Staging and Supply Supervisor in meeting broader strategic goals.
Key Role Accountabilities
* Promote a safety culture that complies with standards and encourages proactive hazard identification.
* Record and report accidents or near misses, supporting investigations and corrective actions.
* Assist team leaders in reducing inefficiencies.
* Use Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies to identify and eliminate waste, and present performance metrics and improvement actions.
* Apply Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to address excess costs.
* Support audits and implement preventative actions.
* Collaborate with support functions to meet departmental ambitions.

* Extensive knowledge of warehouse control, processing, and operations.
