Civil Engineer – Dundee Office

About the Role – We are seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer to join our growing team in our Dundee office. You will play a key role in the design, planning, and delivery of a range of civil engineering projects across the UK, including infrastructure, highways, drainage, and structural developments.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual with strong technical expertise and project coordination skills to contribute to innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and develop detailed civil engineering designs, drawings, and specifications in line with UK standards and regulations.
* Carry out feasibility studies, site investigations, and assessments.
* Manage and coordinate civil works during all project phases—from concept to completion.
* Produce calculations for drainage, highways, and earthworks using appropriate design software (e.g., Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD).
* Liaise with local authorities, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with design and safety requirements.
* Support project management activities, including budgeting, scheduling, and progress reporting.
* Conduct site visits and provide technical support during construction.
* Ensure all work adheres to CDM Regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental policies.
Skills & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree (BEng/BSc) or Master’s degree (MEng/MSc) in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
* Proven experience in civil or infrastructure engineering in the UK.
* Proficient in AutoCAD and at least one civil design software (e.g., Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, Revit).
* Strong understanding of UK design standards (DMRB, Sewers for Adoption, BS/EN standards).
* Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
* Working towards or achieved Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with ICE or IStructE.
* Experience in sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and environmental design.
* Familiarity with BIM processes and digital engineering tools.
