Overview
The Senior Subsidence Technical Engineer is a key technical leader responsible for the expert assessment, management and resolution of complex subsidence, heave and landslip claims and projects. This role requires a deep understanding of geotechnical engineering, structural principles and relevant building regulations. The ideal candidate will provide technical oversight, mentorship to the engineering team and exceptional customer service to ensure effective, timely and compliant resolutions.

Technical Assessment and Investigation
_This role focuses on expert technical involvement in large, complex claims. _
Handling technical claims involving landslips, sinkholes/voids and alternative intervention methods.
Managing high-level, complex complaint cases that require advanced technical knowledge.
Conduct targeted reviews of long-standing claims to proactively determine the best path forward with appropriate mitigation or repair options.
Performing site visits to manage risks and emergency works.
Overseeing complex repair schemes, including all Health & Safety (H&S) and CDM (Construction Design and Management) requirements.
Providing detailed reports and costs for individual claims and claim stages.
Claim and Project Management
_The position requires a hands-on approach to managing the full lifecycle of complex claims and related projects_
Liaising with contractors and external suppliers to develop and implement new repair and mitigation techniques, then providing feedback to management and teams.
Supporting the Contractor Network Manager with network contractors and procurement.
Continuously reviewing and adjusting repair rates and schedules to ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Providing support during periods of industry surge by undertaking initial desktop validations and site investigation validations.
Technical Leadership and Mentorship
_This role is central to training and developing both internal and external teams_
Creating and delivering training materials and sessions for engineers and claims staff.
Working with the Head of Performance Outcomes to develop and train contract managers, trainee engineers and external panel engineers.
Participating in subsidence auditing processes to ensure adherence to engineering standards. When deviations or training needs are identified, you will work with the Head of Performance Outcomes to implement remedial measures.
Continuous Improvement and Risk Management
_This position is key to driving operational excellence and mitigating risk through technical innovation_
Involvement in the development of repair stage systems and scheduling applications.
Contributing to broader operational developments and improvements.
Participating in technical forums with clients.
Reviewing and adjusting repair rates and schedules to manage project costs effectively.
