2024 is continuing to provide sustainablegrowth within OCU Group. Due to this continued growth we now havean opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Deeside.
The purpose of the role will be to assist theOperations & Line Manager with the daily running of allcommercial aspects of the business.
You will playa key role in managing the costs and finances of constructionprojects from inception to completion. You will be responsible forestimating project costs preparing tender documents and managingcontractual relationships with clients contractors and suppliers.
This role requires strong analytical skillsattention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively withproject teams to achieve costeffective and successful projectoutcomes.
Duties andResponsibilities:
CostEstimation andBudgeting:
* Prepareaccurate cost estimates budgets and financial forecasts forconstruction projects based on drawings specifications and otherproject documentation.
* Analyse projectrequirements materials labour and overhead costs to determineproject feasibility and establish costeffectivesolutions.
TenderingandProcurement:
* Preparetender documents bills of quantities (BOQ) and contractspecifications for procurement of construction works services andmaterials.
* Evaluate contractor bids andproposals negotiate contract terms and conditions and recommendselection of preferred suppliers orsubcontractors.
ContractAdministration:
* Administercontracts including issuing variations valuing works completed andassessing contractor claims for payment in accordance withcontractual obligations and industrystandards.
* Monitor project progress costs andvariations and prepare regular reports on financial status cashflow and cost projections for management andstakeholders.
RiskManagement:
* Identifyassess and mitigate project risks related to cost schedule andquality and develop strategies to minimise potential impacts onproject outcomes.
* Review contract termsinsurance requirements and indemnities to ensure adequate risktransfer and compliance with regulatorystandards.
Cost Controland ValueEngineering:
* Monitorproject costs and expenditures against budgets identify costvariances and deviations and implement corrective actions tocontrol costs and maintain projectprofitability.
* Collaborate with project teamsto identify value engineering opportunities and costsaving measureswithout compromising project quality orperformance.
DisputeResolution:
* Provideadvice and assistance in resolving disputes claims and contractualissues arising during construction projects including negotiationmediation or arbitration as necessary.
* Documentand maintain accurate records of contractual correspondence claimsand resolutions for future reference and auditpurposes.
Skills andExperience:
* Holder ofa Full UK Drivers Licence.
* Educated to Degreelevel or equivalent experience.
* Experiencewithin a similar role.
* Must be an excellentorganiser with proven time management skills.
* Must be flexible in hours of work and travel.
* Have excellent communication both oral written numericand computer skills (Microsoft outlook excel &word)
* Understanding & Proficiency tocomplete the monthly CVR process.
* Understanding of the accrual process.
* Previous CEMAR administration experience anadvantage.
* Previous working knowledge of SAGEan advantage.
* Must be proficient with NEC3/NEC 4 contracts all options and be able to work independentlyand/or as part of ateam.
