What you’ll be doing
As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring reliability and performance across a large-scale heavy industrial plant. The role offers a mix of reactive and planned work, with exposure to a wide variety of equipment.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Working across hoppers, mixers, kilns, silos, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and large-scale slicing/mixing equipment.
2. Mechanical maintenance including bearing changes, gearbox replacements, pulleys, belts, welding, and fabrication.
3. Following PPMs through a tablet-based system, ensuring equipment is regularly inspected and maintained.
4. Tackling breakdowns (approx. 70%) with a methodical approach and delivering PPM tasks (approx. 30%).
5. Supporting installation of new plant and equipment upgrades.
6. Ensuring compliance with site safety and contributing to continuous improvement.

To succeed as a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll need:
7. A recognised NVQ Level 3 Qualification.
8. Strong mechanical skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, and fabrication/welding.
9. Background in factory, forces, or heavy industrial environments
10. Flexibility and willingness to train further (hydraulics/pneumatics courses provided).
11. A proactive and positive mindset, with the ability to adapt and work well within a team.
