An opportunity has arisen to join Trauma Unit 1 at Royal Cornwall Hospital. Our team is committed to excellence, in both the service we provide our patients and the support we give our staff. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, skilled motivated Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly team.
An ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and a willingness to enhance skills/knowledge as required is essential. The successful applicant will need to have relevant skills and experience.
Responsibilities:
1. Demonstrate throughout all interventions and tasks the RCHT Nursing and Midwifery 5 key elements and Trust values.
2. Communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately with the multidisciplinary team, patients and their family/visitors/carers.
3. Respond appropriately to queries, take phone messages and pass on written and verbal information to patients.
4. Provide basic information to patients, family/visitors/carers and colleagues.
5. Aware of the importance of accurate documentation and contribute to reports of patients’ activity and progress.
6. Accept constructive feedback and give constructive feedback to colleagues.
7. Participate in discussions about patient care and ward/departmental development, including handover and team meetings.
8. Maintain patient confidentiality.
9. Maintain professional boundaries and working relationships with patients and colleagues.
