Description
Under the supervision of the Head Nurse, demonstrates proficiency in nursing fundamentals, contributes to assessments and care plans, and participates in evaluating nursing care. Shares responsibility for individual patients or a patient population.

Patient Assessment & Essential Functions
* Obtains and documents comprehensive nursing history.
* Performs basic assessments, records vital signs, and notes changes.
* Identifies abnormal data, reports findings, and incorporates info into care plans.
Nursing Care Plan & Implementation
* Develops and reviews care plans, involving patients and families.
* Provides safe, therapeutic care following established standards.
* Communicates effectively with patients, families, and team members.
* Performs basic technical skills and provides patient education.
Evaluation & Leadership
* Evaluates patient responses and participates in care system reviews.
* Supports nursing care standards and supervises nonprofessional staff.
* Attends conferences and participates in peer reviews.
Professional Development & Qualifications
* Maintains professional growth through education and conferences.
* Assists in teaching and seeks guidance on unfamiliar procedures.
* Minimum of 10 hours of continuing education annually.
Minimum Requirements
* Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
* At least 6 months of recent professional nursing experience.
* Active RN license in TN or a compact state with intent to obtain TN license within 30 days.
* Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications or obtain within 90 days of hire.
