About the vacancy Overview: We are seeking an experienced and driven General Manager to lead our UK cold store operations at our flagship site in Corby. This is a key leadership role with full accountability for operational performance, people management, safety standards, and financial delivery in a highly automated, temperature-controlled environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in guiding the site through a period of sustained growth, increased complexity, and major investment. You will oversee all aspects of operational delivery while ensuring strategic alignment with broader supply chain objectives. Key Responsibilities: Provide clear and effective leadership for daily operations in a high-throughput, automated cold store environment. Deliver annual operating plans, maintaining full accountability for cost control, service, and P&L performance. Represent the Corby site within the UK operations leadership group, contributing to strategic planning and functional coordination. Manage site readiness for future expansion, including people, systems, and infrastructure. Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and promote a proactive safety culture. Lead, coach, and develop the site leadership team to enhance organisational capability. Promote a high-performance culture focused on accountability, service, and resilience. Support effective employee relations in line with UK employment law and internal policy. Oversee the performance and reliability of automated systems, robotics, and high-bay storage to maintain operational efficiency. Monitor and analyse key performance indicators, driving improvements through structured action planning. Act as escalation point for service issues and lead root cause analysis and prevention. Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives, applying lean and structured problem-solving methodologies. Maintain and strengthen service relationships with 3PL partners and key stakeholders. Essential Qualifications and Experience: Minimum 5 years' senior operational leadership in a 3PL or complex logistics environment. Proven experience managing site-level growth, start-up, or expansion projects. Full P&L ownership and a track record of commercial decision-making. Demonstrated experience leading large teams in fast-paced operational settings. Strong grasp of employee relations and experience managing in line with UK employment law. Are you up for the job?
