We are looking for a Sensor Testing Engineer to join us, ideally with some experience in technical or engineering tasks in industry. We will provide you with a dynamic fast-growth environment with rapid career progression if successful.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Technical Director, the Test Engineer/Technician is expected to:
Assist in manufacturing sensors according to required specifications, timings, and volumes
Assist in the fabrication of test and calibration rigs to ensure that developed products meet the requirements and specifications
Day-to-day main duties include:
o Sensor set-up
o Sensor calibrations
o Sensor quality checks for release
o Longer-term sensor reliability testing
o Comply with, maintain, and update the Quality Management System.
Ongoing liaison with mechanical, electronics/software, and chemistry teams to ensure timely provision of accessories and consumables
Assist in assessing and repairing returned sensor devices
Assist in performing routine sensor conditioning
Perform selected equipment installs for key customers and deployments/pilots
Provide regular updates to the Technical Director and in company meetings
Requirements
The Sensor Testing Engineer will be hands-on, details & quality focused and adept at following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) whilst being tech-savvy and able to apply analytical approaches to adequately address any encountered issues.
Must-haves
:
Equivalent experience and/or qualification in engineering, other technical discipline or chemistry. Willing to consider applications from a variety of educational backgrounds: degree, apprentice, BTEC, HNC/HND
Strong practical skills with experience in technical and engineering tasks
Highly organized with outstanding attention to detail
Self-motivated and able to work without daily supervision
Ability to quickly learn and apply new skills & processes
Team player willing to work in a multi-disciplinary team
Willingness to travel for equipment installs
Desirable
:
Industry experience
Driver's licence
Familiarity working under quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9000/14001)
Experience working with sensors, high-tech products or in the water space
Experience working with chemicals and/or reagent preparation
Remuneration
:
The Company will pay a highly competitive salary in line with the candidate's relevant experience. A company pension is also in place.
Holidays:
The standard full-time holiday allowance is 23 days annual leave plus public holidays.
Hours of work:
The role is expected to be full-time, but we are flexible accommodating suitably talented individuals and would also entertain part-time employment. The company will consider flexible working patterns within the operational requirements of the role.
