We are supporting a fast-growing, Fintech business operating at the intersection of savings, investments, and digital consumer products. With a strong UK presence and an expanding customer base, the business has built a highly regarded platform focused on delivering accessible, user-centric financial products.
This is a newly created Senior Legal Counsel role, offering significant autonomy and the chance to shape how legal supports product development and regulatory compliance as the business grows. You will act as a strategic adviser to Product and wider business teams, supporting the development and launch of new products and features, while ensuring compliance with financial services regulation.
Key Responsibilities
* Partner closely with Product and business teams to support the development and launch of new products, features, and services
* Identify and manage legal and regulatory risks across financial services, consumer protection, and data protection
* Provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice aligned with business objectives
* Develop and support internal policies, processes, and governance frameworks
* Draft and update customer-facing terms and conditions
* Advise on a broad range of commercial agreements, including supplier, banking, marketing, and technology contracts
* Support regulatory interactions and queries, including engagement with relevant authorities
* Deliver training and guidance to business stakeholders on legal and regulatory matters
* Monitor regulatory developments and advise on potential business impact
* Manage external counsel where required
About You
* 8+ PQE with strong financial services regulatory and product experience
* Background in financial services regulations; BCOBS, Consumer Duty, CASS and FSMA
* Background from a leading law firm, with in-house experience
* Strong understanding of UK financial services regulation (including FCA frameworks, FSMA, and consumer protection)
* Experience advising on savings, investment, or consumer financial products is beneficial
