Site-Based Senior Site Engineer / Operative - Land Remediation Engineer required for a leading waste management company. Role Overview: Salary – up to £40k plus expenses and mileage allowance Location: Primarily site-based with travel across the UK including overnight stays Schedule: 5 days a week on-site. Previous Job Titles (not an exhaustive list): Mechanical Engineer, Plant Fitter, Maintenance Technician, Fitter, Service Engineer, Site Engineer Previous Industries: Heavy Industry, Quarry, Construction, Recycling, Industrial Services, Demolition, Aggregates, Mining, Landfill, Manufacturing, MRF, Waste Management, or any sector involving large static or mobile plant equipment. Key Responsibilities: • Operational involvement, hands-on work, and close collaboration within the site team. • Supervising on-site operations and subcontractors. • Monitoring, sampling soils, and overseeing remediation technologies. • Assisting with smaller project management. • Ensuring site compliance with H&S and Environmental legislation. Additional Duties: • Managing safety systems maintenance and calibration. • Overseeing subcontractors and compliance. • Contributing to site productivity enhancements. • Conducting sample analyses and movement requests. • Leading daily team meetings and briefings. • Maintaining stock records and monthly figures. • Handling movement paperwork and documentation. Qualifications and Skills: • Degree or equivalent in Engineering or related field. • Practical experience in site-based engineering roles. • Strong knowledge of H&S and Environmental legislation. • Ability to manage teams and subcontractors effectively. • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
