Role Overview
This position involves managing the operation and continuous improvement of a dedicated Security Operations Centre (SOC) supporting a major UK Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) organization. The networks are primarily cloud-based, requiring advanced protection and threat management.
This role requires a minimum of DV clearance and reports to the Service Delivery Manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure detection, triage, and reporting of potential cyber threats and vulnerabilities daily.
* Manage regular threat intelligence and vulnerability reports, setting achievable deadlines and distributing high-quality outputs.
* Identify and prioritize key threat actors impacting the client.
* Develop and review Priority Intelligence Requirements (PIRs) and collection plans to ensure relevance.
* Maintain high standards for all threat intelligence and vulnerability reports.
* Document and review processes regularly.
* Provide thorough analysis, contextual insights, and predictions in deliverables.
* Assess and improve the maturity of client functions, implementing enhancements.
* Oversee the development of Threat Intelligence and Vulnerability team members.
* Ensure timely completion of all products during periods of reduced capacity.
Minimum Requirements
Technical Skills
* 5+ years' experience in threat intelligence, vulnerability management, or cyber threat research.
* Experience in incident response and management.
* Deep understanding of threats related to government and CNI sectors.
* Strong open-source research skills.
* Proficiency with Windows and Linux OS, command line tools, and cloud platforms.
Non-Technical Skills
* Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
* Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
* Team-oriented with experience working in diverse, multi-disciplinary teams.
* Self-motivated leader with line management experience.
