Overview
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Purchase Ledger Controller to join a busy and fast-paced finance function based in Thatcham. This role will initially be offered on a temporary basis with a strong likelihood of becoming permanent for the right candidate.
The successful individual will take ownership of the purchase ledger process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong financial controls. This is a standalone role.
Key Responsibilities
1. Processing high volumes of supplier invoices, including matching to purchase orders and delivery notes
2. Maintaining and reconciling the purchase ledger control account
3. Preparing and processing supplier payment runs, including foreign currency payments
4. Setting up and maintaining supplier accounts
5. Investigating and resolving invoice queries with internal teams and suppliers
6. Reviewing courier invoices and supporting recharge processes
7. Managing petty cash, including reconciliations and float control
8. Assisting with month-end and year-end processes
Skills & Experience
9. Previous experience in a purchase ledger / accounts payable role
10. Experience using an ERP system (Epicor advantageous but not essential)
11. Strong numerical and reconciliation skills
12. High attention to detail and accuracy
13. Ability to manage workload effectively in a fast-paced environment
14. Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across teams
Working Pattern
15. Hybrid working: 3 days office-based, 2 days remote
