We are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to play a leading role in delivering a diverse range of highway and infrastructure schemes. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing independent consultancy working across projects that range from small-scale highway improvements through to large residential and multi-million-pound commercial developments.
As part of our CivilsPay Team, you will work on a varied portfolio of projects, producing designs that include a full range of access junction solutions such as roundabouts, signalised junctions, ghost-island right turns, and priority junctions. For the right individual, this role offers genuine scope to influence and help develop a strategically important sector of the business.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Deliver highways and civil infrastructure designs from concept through to detailed design
* Design vertical and horizontal road alignments
* Produce junction designs (roundabouts, priority, ghost island, signalised)
* Prepare drainage designs and strategies, including SuDS solutions
* Contribute to Flood Risk Assessments and technical reports
* Develop Section 278 and Section 184 design packages
* Liaise with local authorities and National Highway
* Support project delivery to programme and budget
* Mentor and support junior team members
Requirements
* Degree in Civil Engineering (or relevant equivalent)
* Approximately 8+ years’ post-graduate experience
* Proven highways and junction design experience
* Experience in road design (vertical & horizontal alignments)
* Drainage design & strategy experience
* Experience delivering Section 278 / Section 184 designs
* Knowledge of local authority & National Highways processes
* Strong working knowledge of relevant standards (DMRB, Manual for Streets, etc.)Desirable Experience
* Installation of EV chargers
* Experience with other renewable energy technologies
* Previous supervisory or leadership responsibilities
Software Experience:
* AutoCAD
* Autodesk Civils 3D
* Vehicle Tracking / AutoTrack
* MicroDrainage / Flow / InfoDrainage
* KeyLINES / KeySIGN / KeyPOST (advantageous)
Desirable Experience
* Adoption agreements (Section 278, 38 & 104)
* Public realm / active travel schemes
* Cycling infrastructure (LTN 1/20)
* Utilities coordination
* Site monitoring / supervisio
* Chartered status (ICE / CIHT / CIWEM) or working towards
