£36,363 to £39,862 per year (Grade 8). The role is full-time and temporary until 30 September 2026, based within the Early Years and Childcare Team. It is located at the Guildhall in Swansea, with two days per week office based.

We're looking for a motivated individual to support Swansea's childcare sufficiency work—helping us gather and analyse data that informs future developments and supports our reporting to Welsh Government. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic planning of high-quality childcare provision across the city.
In this role, you will:
 * Support the collection and analysis of childcare sufficiency data across Swansea.
 * Help develop smart data systems and tools that generate clear, actionable insights.
 * Champion secure information sharing to support evidence-based decision-making.
 * Work closely with a small, friendly, and experienced team dedicated to improving outcomes for children and families.
 * Provide line management for a small team responsible for delivering the Childcare Offer for Wales, offering guidance, support, and oversight to ensure high-quality service delivery.
What we're looking for:
 * Experience working in a childcare setting or a relevant Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification.
 * A keen interest in data and its role in shaping public services.
 * Strong communication and organisational skills.

What you'll do
 * Use your expertise to support Swansea Council's statutory duties under the Childcare Act 2006.
 * Collate and analyse local childcare data to identify gaps and inform strategic planning.
 * Lead on information management and data sharing protocols within the Commissioning Hub.
 * Contribute to the Childcare Sufficiency Assessment and refresh cycles, helping shape future provision.
