Job Description: Job Description: Neurodiversity Mentor Location:Rochdale Salary:£26,000 per annum Contract Duration:(Sessional, ongoing contract with potential for permanent) About the Role: We are seeking a passionate and empatheticNeurodiverse Mentorto support individuals with neurodiverse needs on their journey toward employment and personal development. This role focuses on empowering participants by identifying their strengths, addressing barriers, and helping them navigate the complexities of the workplace. The successful candidate will foster confidence and independence, ensuring each participant feels supported and equipped to reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities: Participant Engagement: Conduct warm handovers to explain the program, provide reassurance, and build trust. Complete full diagnostic assessments and develop tailored work plans to identify key barriers to employment. Personalized Support: Allow participants to have a chaperone if required, creating a comfortable and supportive environment. Manage sensory sensitivities, anxiety, and other workplace complexities. Provide travel training to help participants confidently navigate transport independently. Development and Empowerment: Build participants communication skills and empower them to take control of their progress. Encourage participants to challenge their own workplace expectations and recognize their innate abilities. Set clear goals to maintain focus and motivation. Awareness and Education: Educate participants on Access to Work programs and assist with completing Health Adjustment Passports. Key Skills and Qualities: Empathy, patience, and an understanding of neurodiverse needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with participants. Ability to work independently while managing a diverse caseload. Experience in providing face-to-face and remote support.
