Our team of Test Managers manage the delivery of large end to end programmes of work across the Financial, Insurance, Banking, Retail and Energy & Utilities services domain, along with the defined work packages to the client and provide effective management to teams and give guidance to others and key business users. In this role you will direct and manage the full software testing lifecycle for complex transformation programmes within the Insurance domain. You will provide management for the team in planning, designing, and developing software quality frameworks and processes whilst meeting on-time and on-budget project goals. To own resourcing and planning for all IT testing activities To provide consultancy/guidance/advice and recommendations on test techniques and phases Fully responsible for all testing activities To perform a full quality review of client's testing practices To provide a detailed short-term and long-term list of improvements to their documentation and processes To manage the implementation of the recommendations, including providing best practice templates and processes To build and implement the independent Testing Governance framework Develops strategies and directs teams with diverse scope on complex programmes of work Facilitation of workshops and requirement gathering sessions and able to describe the level of risk associated with various projects Ensures that project deliverables are completed within agreed cost, timescale and resource budgets, and are signed off, pro-actively aims to achieve personal and team utilisation targets Uses project planning tools and participates in the identification of and planning for future resource needs Responsible for overall test plan design and processes Defining standards for the development of test scripts and other testing assets Specifies the test environment for the whole testing life-cycle and ensures it reflects business requirements for execution Allocates and co-ordinates test schedules, work and resource plans; managing progress of all activities against the plan, managing own deliverables and that of others to meet delivery deadlines Diagnoses problems and probes underlying issues to generate multiple potential solutions Can pro-actively anticipate and prevent problems, facilitates buy-in and guides implementation of corrective and/or preventative actions for complex issues. Identifies potential consequences and risk levels Provide consultancy on the most appropriate test tooling solutions for clients Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects Inputs into proof of concept exercises and assists with pre-sales opportunities. Identifies opportunities to expand client assignments Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience ISTQB Desirable : Extensive technical knowledge and experience with complex IT programmes within the insurance (London Markets) an advantage. ISTQB Advanced Excellent client-facing skills - advising clients and clearly communicating the benefits of implementing specific quality assurance solutions and identifying areas to add value People management skills Team work and emotional intelligence Good self-management – continuous performance is both an objective and a mind-set Has an innovative approach – a bold thinker and doer, matching creativity with vigilance Strong theoretical knowledge in quality assurance methodologies, applying standards and specialist quality assurance expertise to deliver whilst providing effective management to teams Extensive application/technology and domain knowledge and has recognised expertise in QA Management including participating in the identification of and planning for future resource needs Experience in managing the change control procedure Experience in providing technical management Experience in diagnosing problems using formal problem-solving tools and techniques from multiple angles and probing underlying issues to generate multiple potential solutions.
