Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast‑paced and growing organisation. We are looking for a Health and Wellbeing Nurse for our Harrow service. You will work closely with people during pivotal moments, offering evidence‑based interventions and a human connection that empowers them to take positive steps toward recovery.


Key Responsibilities

* Provide high‑quality service delivery to people who use substances and their significant others.
* Contribute to overall service performance and ensure contractual output targets and high clinical standards are achieved.
* Deliver safe, effective, evidence‑based health and wellbeing interventions, including community detox and medication administration.
* Assist in developing systems, pathways and documents that promote holistic delivery of services.
* Encourage use of education, employment services and holistic health/support activities.
* Manage clinical resources, considering staffing, financial and contractual issues.
* Promote and support interface with commissioners, suppliers, primary and secondary care, public health, community pharmacy, GPs and hospitals.
* Assist implementation of clinical alert responses with the Clinical Department.
* Participate in audits, monitoring and implementation of recommendations/action plans.
* Collate and use health and wellbeing data for quality/performance improvements.
* Investigate and resolve incidents, complaints and disciplinary matters to reduce recurrence.
* Provide competency assessment and training to staff, students and volunteers.
* Undertake continuing professional development and maintain confidence and competence.
* Work in line with all relevant legislation, guidance, professional and CQC standards.
* Offer advice and guidance on health and wellbeing issues to staff and partner agencies.
* Support a one‑team approach with management and direct reports.
* Provide line management supervision and facilitate meetings/training events as required.


Qualifications and Experience

* Registered nurse (RN, RGN, or Learning Disabilities Nurse) with a current active PIN.
* Sound knowledge of health and wellbeing issues related to problematic substance use and appropriate recovery/harm reduction interventions.
* Demonstrable ability to deliver quality service to vulnerable people with complex needs, including assessments, care plans, risk assessments and case recording.
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and digital meeting platforms; experience with case management systems such as Nebula.
* Understanding of Health and Social Care regulatory requirements (CQC, NICE).
* Commitment to partnership with professionals across criminal justice, primary care, secondary care, commissioning and community agencies.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure, meet deadlines and record information timely.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills for various settings.
* Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and collaborative skills.


Desirable

* Relevant postgraduate qualifications or recognised certificates (e.g., RCGP Drugs Part 1/2).
* Experience providing health and wellbeing services for people who use substances.
* Experience in audits, performance indicators, incident and complaints management, and education/professional development.
* Professional affiliation (e.g., RCN, Addiction Professionals).
* Experience providing clinical supervision, line management and appraisal.
