Contract: JUNE 2026 - On going supplyHours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)Setting: SEMH Secondary School KS3 (Also suitable for a Primary Trained teacher)
About the RoleAn inclusive SEMH secondary school in Derby City is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher from June 2026. You will support pupils with SEMH needs, helping them regulate behaviour, build confidence and re-engage with learning.
The school provides a structured, nurturing environment with small classes, strong pastoral support and an experienced team.
Key Responsibilities
* Support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs across KS3 and 4
* Deliver behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
* Provide 1:1 and small-group learning and emotional support
* Implement behaviour plans and risk assessments
* Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and engagement
* Uphold safeguarding and welfare procedures
The Ideal CandidateCalm, resilient and nurturing, with experience supporting SEMH or SEN pupils. Confident managing challenging behaviour and building strong relationships.
Essential Requirements
* SEMH/SEN/PRU or alternative provision experience
* Trauma-informed and restorative practice knowledge
* Strong behaviour management skills
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
* Right to work in the UK
