The purpose of this Postdoctoral Role in Image Analysis is to collate and curate data from MRI and CT studies conducted on patients and volunteers, as part of the TBI-REPORTER initiative. The postholder will develop, refine, and execute imaging analysis pipelines, both independently and in conjunction with other data, such as clinical outcomes, to establish meaningful relationships. Analysis pipelines will include structural imaging, multi-shell diffusion, susceptibility weighted imaging and functional MRI. These analyses will make use of publicly available tools, and may also require software development.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in a relevant biological subject, together with experience in molecular biology, cell biology and immunology. Familiarity with flow cytometry, vascular biology and in vivo work would be desirable. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently, are also essential.
The role holder will have familiarity with standard imaging analysis method including use of Python (NumPy/SciPy/PyTorch/Tensorflow), Matlab, C++, version control software (e.g. git), and statistical analysis using R, SQL, etc. Familiarity with machine learning tools and working on Linux High-Performance Computing platforms would be highly desirable.
This is a highly collaborative role and you will work with scientists and clinicians from other academic healthcare institutions in the UK and internationally, and with industry partners.
Appointment at Research Associate level is dependent on having a PhD. Those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD will initially be appointed as a Research Assistant (Grade 5, Point 38 £34,132) moving to Research Associate (Grade 7) upon confirmation of your PhD award.
