Overview
Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality care and learning experiences for children aged 0–5 years.
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging activities following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
* Create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment that encourages curiosity and development.
* Observe, assess, and record children’s progress to support individual learning needs.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to ensure the best outcomes for all children.
* Support the daily routines of the nursery, including meal times, nappy changes, and outdoor play.
* Maintain accurate records and ensure all policies and safeguarding procedures are followed.
Experience
* Previous experience working in a nursery, preschool, or early years setting.
* Experience supporting children’s learning and development in line with EYFS standards.
* Proven ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and team members.
Skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong understanding of child development and early years practice.
* Ability to plan engaging, age-appropriate activities.
* Reliable, proactive, and passionate about supporting young children.
* Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
Educational requirements
* Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification (or equivalent in Childcare).
* A good understanding of the EYFS framework.
* Paediatric First Aid certification is desirable.
* Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete).
