The Product Engineer is responsible for developing, testing, and analysing product integration solutions to ensure high-quality products are manufactured in line with the operations strategy for new product, material, and process introduction.


Key Responsibilities

* Develop robust test solutions for verification and validation of product performance to meet specified requirements.
* Assist new product developments from design to manufacture, supporting the transfer to manufacturing of the assembly and test processes for switches.
* Collaborate with engineers from a multi-disciplinary team to create tools that improve test coverage and team efficiency.
* Create test equipment to support verification testing and production testing, including electro-optical testing, analysis of results, and report writing.
* Develop hardware and software solutions to deliver test solutions within a given budget and timescale.
* Define procedures and test tools for de-skilling of complex processes.
* Specify testing requirements for new designs going into volume manufacture.
* Support the evaluation and introduction to manufacturing of cost savings and improvements to supply chain security, including standardisation.
* Write procurement specifications for third-party companies to produce ATE, bed-of-nail fixtures and other bespoke test platforms.


Profile

* Bachelor’s degree in an engineering subject or physics.
* 3‑5 years of industry experience.
* Strong test background and competence in fault‑finding complex integration systems and subsystems.
* Methodical and structured problem‑solving approach.
* Experience in verification, test design, process development and transfer into manufacturing.
* Excellent verbal and written communication with multi‑disciplined engineers and managers.
* Organised, independent and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Energy, enthusiasm, and the ability to get work done.
* Commitment to quality and on‑time delivery.
* Willingness to travel to volume manufacturing sites when required.


Desirable Skills & Experience

* Software test development (Python, LabView).
* Hardware testing and debugging experience.
* Understanding of assembly and test methods and the interactions between components, processes, software and product quality and reliability.
