Overview:

Compass Associates are proud to be partnering with a UK-wide specialist education and care provider that delivers individualised learning, therapy, and support for children and young people with autism, ADHD, SEMH, and complex needs.

This is an exciting opportunity for an HCPC Registered Educational Psychologist to join a dynamic clinical team supporting a network of specialist schools across the Midlands and South West region.

The position offers a balance of consultation, assessment, direct therapeutic input, and staff training, providing true variety and professional autonomy. Working closely with the Clinical Lead, you’ll be part of a growing and highly supportive multi-disciplinary team that includes Occupational Therapists, Speech & Language Therapists, and Assistant Psychologists.

This role is being created due to organic growth within the group, offering an ideal opportunity to contribute to meaningful change across a diverse portfolio of schools.

Location:

Primarily a home-based (remote) role, with regional travel - covering a cluster of nine specialist schools located along the M5 corridor, running from Taunton, up to Cardiff, Birmingham and Stoke-on-Trent.

Each school visit typically occurs once per month, equating to roughly one week of travel per month. Travel time is fully included in working hours, and expenses are covered for overnight stays where needed.

Ideal candidate locations include (but aren’t limited to) Birmingham, Worcester, or Gloucester, with easy access to the region.

The Role:

The postholder will support schools through a combination of consultation, supervision, staff training, and direct therapeutic work with pupils. You will also contribute to service development, research, and quality improvement across the education network.

Key Responsibilities:

* Deliver specialist educational psychology input to schools within your region
* Provide consultation and advice on learning, behaviour, and emotional well-being
* Support staff in developing and embedding trauma-informed, evidence-based strategies
* Contribute to safeguarding and critical incident support
* Provide supervision for Assistant Psychologists and school staff, including Designated Safeguarding Leads
* Contribute to service development and policy planning from a psychological perspective

Criteria:

* HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist (Educational Psychologist preferred, though others with relevant education setting experience will also be considered)
* Experience providing consultation, training, and supervision in education or SEN settings
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally

Salary and Benefits:

* Up to £65,000 per annum (DOE)
* £3,600 annual car allowance + mileage (18p per mile)
* Overnight stays covered
* 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays, plus long service enhancements (up to 5 additional days)
* Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing support
* Blue Light Card eligibility
* Free flu vaccine and eye tests
* Career development and training courses
* Pension scheme and life assurance
* Sabbatical opportunities after 2 years’ service
* Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
* Long service awards and employee recognition programme
* Sick pay and £500 referral bonus

Interview Process:

A two-stage process including:

* Informal discussion with the Clinical Lead
* Panel interview conducted via Teams with senior members of the clinical team
