Garden Centre Team Leader Location: Northampton Contract type: Permanent Hours: Full Time Hours: 30 Hours per Week including some Weekends At British Garden Centres, we pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional customer experience and creating inspiring retail environments across our Centres. We are seeking a proactive and motivated Team Leader to support our Floor Manager in driving high quality merchandising standards and promoting active selling across the shop floor. This role is ideal for someone who is approachable, energetic, and detail focused, with excellent people skills and a positive “can do” attitude. The successful candidate will play a key part in maintaining impactful displays, engaging with customers, and helping to maximise sales opportunities in this fast paced, customer centric Centre. The successful candidate should be physically fit as this is a very hands on role and some heavy lifting will be involved. Experience in building or similar retail experience is preferred. Plant knowledge a must, previous work within horticulture required. Duties will include: Supervising duties including key holder opening and closing store as required Excellent customer service. Organising team schedules and any staff issues. Evaluating employee performance and providing training and guidance as needed. Filling in for absent employees and assisting teams as needed to successfully complete projects. Ensuring that employees follow company policies as well as health and safety regulations. Ensuring a high and consistent standard of customer service. Business compliance in accordance with Health and Safety and food safety laws and regulations. Ensuring stock is put out in a timely manner and merchandised to our high standards.
