Based at our Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire HQ, with travel across the Southeast
We hire for trust, and train for skill.
At The Loft Boys, we've been making lofts safe, practical, and useful for nearly 16 years. Our work takes us into every kind of home across the Southeast, and no two days are the same. Some lofts are spotless, some are very dirty. Some are awkward and tight to work in, others are wide open and straightforward. Whatever we find, every single loft gives us the chance to turn wasted space into something valuable for a family, and that's why 98.9% of customers recommend us to friends and family.
The people who thrive here aren't just handy with tools. They're the ones who take pride in how they show up: vans and kit in order, professional in appearance, and focused on leaving the job properly finished. That's what our customers notice, and it's why they recommend us.
We already have a strong team of people like this, and we're looking to add more of them. Because they don't just make a difference to our customers today, they're the foundation for where this company is going tomorrow.
And because our work is bespoke, and our finishing details are what set us apart from competitors, we give full training to everyone who joins. Whether you've got years of trade experience or you're newer on the tools, we'll get you up to speed on the standards, methods, and touches that make a Loft Boys installation different.
If you value reliability, consistency, and presentation — and enjoy the satisfaction of a job well 'll fit right in with us.
What you'll be doing
* Installing loft insulation, loft flooring, loft ladders, and loft hatches.
* Making loft spaces safe and usable for everyday domestic storage.
* Meeting customers face-to-face and representing The Loft Boys with professionalism.
* Using our purpose-built technology to manage jobs and keep things running smoothly.
* Leaving every site safe, tidy, and finished to a high standard.
What we're looking for
* A full UK driving licence.
* Some hands-on construction/trade experience (carpentry, roofing, flooring, decking, lofts, multi-trade) is preferred — but if you're the right person, we'll happily train you in the rest.
* A professional appearance and tidy approach — customers notice the details.
* Reliability and self-motivation: showing up on time, every time.
* Respect for tools, vans, and equipment — the basics that keep the job moving.
* The ability to pace work and prioritise standards, not shortcuts.
* Flexibility for occasional overtime and a Saturday rota.
What you'll get in return
* Job security in a stable, well-established business.
* Competitive pay from day one, with opportunities to progress.
* 28 days holiday plus workplace pension.
* Structured training (12 weeks upfront, with ongoing development tailored to your experience).
* Clear career paths – many of our surveyors and managers started as installers.
* Opportunity for a company vehicle to be based at your home once fully trained — giving you the responsibility and freedom to head straight to site.
* Recognition & reward schemes that celebrate effort and consistency.
* Quarterly team away days – from karting to clay shooting.
* A culture built on trust, pride, and accountability — you'll be supported, not micromanaged.
Why this role might be for you
You take pride in yourself and the work you do. You'd rather pace a job properly and leave it right than rush for an early finish. You want to be part of a team that's raising standards and helping shape where this company is going next.
Skill can be taught. Pride and trust can't. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
