Job Purpose
We’re looking for a proactive, adaptable team member to join our Faculty Operations team on a temporary basis. In this role, you’ll work closely with academic colleagues and professional support staff, contributing to a smooth, well‑organised environment across our Faculties. If you enjoy variety, problem‑solving, and making a positive impact, this role offers a great opportunity to immerse yourself in a dynamic university setting.
This is a temporary assignment for approx 6 weeks - possibly longer. Full time Monday to Friday - 37 hours - hybrid - Talbot Campus - parking permit - £ an hour - to start as soon as possible

Key Responsibilities
Event & Activity Support
1. Co‑ordinate and support Faculty events not covered by Events and Conferencing, including booking guest parking, arranging catering, and providing general administrative assistance.
Faculty Operations Support
2. Assist FOST with collecting, formatting, and returning key information accurately and on time, including data entry and information‑chasing when required.
Staff Processes & Records
3. Maintain and update probation and appraisal records for academic departments, ensuring deadlines are met.
4. Work closely with Heads of Department and the Executive Officer to support academic staff through key milestones such as probationpletion and annual pay progression.
Travel & Logistics
5. Ensurepliance with travel authorisation and booking procedures.
6. Support staff travel planning and liaise with the University’s travel management provider as needed.
New Starter & Induction Support
7. Assist with onboarding activities, including preparing wee emails and supporting induction processes for new starters.
Room & Catering Administration
8. Arrange room bookings and catering for departmental activities, using the correct systems and ensuring accurate cost‑coding.
Operational Support & Moves
9. Support the organisation of School office moves in collaboration with Faculty Operations Managers.
Health & Safety
10. Contribute as a member of the Faculty’s DSE Assessor team.
Digital Processes
11. Use Office 365 tools such as SharePoint and online forms to streamline processes and manage Faculty‑related spreadsheets.
Project Support
12. Assist with Faculty projects as required, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
General Duties
13. Carry out any additional tasks required by FOST or the Operations Managers to support the smooth running of Faculty operations.
