Are you passionate about helping others and making a difference those who have been a victim of violence? If so BRC are recruiting for a Domestic Violence Support Worker to join an incredible team in Bridgend.

We’re looking for a Domestic Violence Support Worker who shares this charities passion for empowering women to rebuild their lives and live free from fear.

As a Domestic Violence Support Worker, you’ll provide practical and emotional support to women who have experienced domestic abuse. You'll be part of a passionate and supportive team, working directly with individuals to help them achieve safety, independence, and long-term wellbeing.

This charity is dedicated to providing support for families and individuals affected by domestic violence, enabling them to live a life free from fear and abuse. As Support Worker your role would involve working closely with these individuals, aiding them to maintain their tenancy.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Delivering one-to-one support, safety planning, and advocacy
Supporting women to access housing, legal, financial, and health services
Working in partnership with local agencies and community services
Promoting empowerment, resilience, and independence in a trauma-informed way
To be successful in this position, you will need to be compassionate, non-judgmental, and committed to supporting those experiencing domestic abuse. You understand the complexities of abuse and are skilled at providing sensitive, empowering support.

We’re looking for someone with:

Experience supporting vulnerable women or those affected by domestic violence.
Strong communication and advocacy skills
A good understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed approaches
The ability to work flexibly and independently, as well as within a team
Female applicants only as being female is deemed to be a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010
