Shop Manager
Location: Sue Ryder Charity shop, 2, Ross House, Stow-on-the-Wold, Cheltenham GL54 1AF
Hours: 37.5 Hours per week over 7 days
Pay: £13.50 per hour + rewards & benefits
About the role
As a member of the retail team at Sue Ryder Charity shop, you will help inspire communities and contribute to increasing income that supports our care and support services.
Key responsibilities
* Drive business, push sales and achieve targets.
* Lead the team to deliver excellent customer service to donors and customers.
* Work with the local community to generate donated stock.
* Recruit, train, and retain a volunteer team.
* Set high standards of merchandising, housekeeping and health and safety.
* Manage effective stock processes and maintain a well‑merchandised shop with fresh seasonal stock.
* Act as a brand ambassador for Sue Ryder and support in‑store campaigns and national fundraising initiatives.
* Operate the Epos system efficiently.
Minimum essential criteria
* Customer service experience.
* People management experience (reviews, 1:1s, volunteer recruitment, team meetings).
* Experience with KPI and target setting.
* Strong IT skills (admin, emails, instant messaging, video calls).
* Organisational skills.
* Experience of lone working.
Desirable criteria
* High‑street retail or charity retail managerial experience.
* Health and Safety knowledge.
* Basic Microsoft Office or equivalent skills.
* Background in high‑street retail, leisure or hospitality.
* Experience in merchandising and stock rotation.
