About Hinkley Point C
The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.
Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan.
What you'll be doing
As an Install & Commissioning Engineer, you will have the following responsibilities,
1. Supporting coordination of non-Permanent requirements for the commission team working toward TA energisation and site installation of site services
2. Deliver procedures, processes and support reporting to show control and coordination to the scope of works to support the MEH Alliance construction activities.
3. Define boundary of scope of works.
4. Ensuring documents are compliant with latest works information and other documentation.
5. Request utility connections.
6. Oversee switching/isolations/removal.
7. Ownership and driving of deliverables from conception to A-Accepted status.
8. Prioritisation and ownershipof documentation to enable construction works.
9. Support continuous improvement programmes to improve process/procedures.
10. Directly report to the CBS Lead or nominated deputy.
11. Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project.
12. Ensure compliance with all nuclear safety and site licence requirements.
13. Review and feedback on suitability of level of resource to effectively run the support function.
Who we're looking for
Do you have?
14. Mechanical/Electrical Engineering qualification or equivalent vocational training and or experience of commissioning systems.
15. Health and Safety qualification preferred.
16. Ability to obtain a high-level security clearance.
17. CCNSG Safety Passport or MAPS
