About the Role
Cabrini Brighton’s Rehabilitation Unit cares for patients across 48 beds located on the first floor of our facility.
We are currently seeking a compassionate and motivated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will work under the direction and supervision of registered nurses to support the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.
This is a full-time, permanent position requiring flexibility to work a variety of shifts across a 7-day roster, including mornings, afternoons, weekends, and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the delivery of personal care to patients, under the guidance of registered nurses
* Monitor and promptly report changes in patient condition
* Respond to patient and family queries, escalating to the nursing team as required
* Help maintain a clean and safe patient environment, including bed-making and room upkeep
* Support the emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients while maintaining their dignity and privacy
About You
This role suits someone passionate about person-centred care and who thrives in a collaborative, team-focused environment.
To be successful, you will have:
* Health Service Assistance qualifications or equivalent qualifications as outlined in the position description.
* Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and relationships with patients.
* A professional approach to handling sensitive and confidential information
* Previous experience in an acute hospital setting (highly regarded)
