GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join schools in the Bolsover (S44) area. As an SEN TA, this role is ideal for someone who is eager to make a difference by providing tailored support to pupils, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential. Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant: Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs. Assist the class teacher in adapting lessons and resources to meet individual needs. Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour in the classroom. Support pupils with personal and social development in a nurturing environment. Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to deliver effective support strategies. Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant: Previous experience supporting children with SEN is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to supporting young learners. Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and effectively. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply). A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history with explanations for any gaps.
