This is a permanent vacancy at Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA) working in the Young Person’s Service in Retford. The service provides a strengths-based approach to help young people build skills, confidence and independence, and to access housing, education or employment opportunities in line with local authority care plans.
The Vacancy
Here at NCHA we have a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join our friendly and supportive Young Person’s Service in Retford. This busy and dynamic service offers support to encourage young people to be the best version of themselves and to access suitable accommodation, education or employment opportunities. Our team advocates for tenants and liaises with agencies to help them access permanent housing and to pursue education or training.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to advocating for tenants and liaising with agencies to help access permanent accommodation.
* Support young people to access education or employment training and to achieve independent living within the local care plan.
* Engage with young people through listening and effective verbal and written communication; be a role model and support independence.
* Work to promote a positive home environment for young people, on a rota basis given the 7 days a week, 365 days a year operation.
* Be flexible with shifts (typical patterns 07:00–14:30 and 14:30–22:00) and be willing to work across the rota.
Requirements
* Ability to listen and communicate with young people; good written and verbal English is essential.
* Willingness to go above and beyond to support young people and align with local authority care plans.
* Due to location, a driving licence and access to a vehicle are highly desirable.

* Flexible, positive attitude with a readiness to work in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Information
We operate 7 days a week, 365 days a year; applicants must be able to work a rota. Typical shifts are 07:00–14:30 and 14:30–22:00.
