Job Description:
Manpower is currently seeking an interim Assistant Technical Project Leader to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple. This role offers an opportunity to become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.
The position is based in Seacroft, Leeds. It is a full-time temporary role lasting 6 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation is competitive, between £30,800 - £35,000 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.
The role offers a mix of remote and onsite working, subject to business needs.
The Assistant Technical Project Leader will manage formulation, specification, and packaging activities within deodorants innovation projects. The role supports the delivery of these projects to market, ensuring global and local solutions are efficiently integrated into European supply chains and delivered to customers.
This position focuses on supporting innovation project managers on high/medium risk projects, coordinating formulation work, implementing formulation changes, and supporting packaging solutions with the packaging team.
Key Accountabilities
* Support and assist the Manager/Technical Project Leader on project management tasks across multiple projects. Deputise when necessary. Ensure effective communication and support to regions/countries.
* Manage innovation projects as a global/regional TPL on small/low risk projects.
* Contribute to technical documentation, gather cross-functional input, identify project risks, and update stakeholders. Provide formulation data for decision documents.
* Prepare documentation for laboratory technicians, such as batch sheets and data templates. Check and sign off gas sheets when trained.
* Serve as formulation contact for projects, providing information and solving formulation and project issues creatively.
* Ensure packaging compatibility with formulation and customer requirements, meeting regulatory and sustainability standards.
* Manage packaging activities from primary to palletisation, collaborating with partners.
* Complete code summaries to facilitate ordering and accurate Bill of Materials.
Key Requirements
* FMCG experience preferred.
* Graduate level preferred; GCSE Math, English, Science, or Engineering required.
* Lab and formulation development experience beneficial.
* Project management and claims support experience advantageous.
* Packaging development experience in FMCG beneficial.
