Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and production activities.
* Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to recipes.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
* Oversee the preparation and presentation of dishes, ensuring consistency and quality.
* Help manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
* Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
* Collaborate with other team members to create innovative menu items.
* Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained and operated safely.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment.
* Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food production.
* Excellent cooking skills with an emphasis on food preparation techniques.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively in a busy kitchen setting.
* Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
