Overview

Join us as a Careers Advisor: Empower Futures. This is a part-time role working 3 days per week with travel to Scarborough. Progress Careers focuses on wellbeing, personal and professional growth, and a supportive work environment.


Responsibilities

* Personal Career Guidance: conduct 1:1 interviews and group sessions to support students/clients in making informed, realistic career decisions; encourage self and opportunity awareness, raise aspirations, motivate, and sustain ongoing career conversations.
* Careers Information: use labour market information and other resources to help students identify, access, interpret, and utilise current information; organise careers fairs and related activities with the Careers Leader.
* Career Guidance Programmes: advise on resources and providers, contribute to the delivery of the career guidance programme, and support the achievement of Gatsby Benchmarks and Quality in Careers Standards.
* Group activities: facilitate career-related learning; assist with monitoring, tracking, and supporting school leavers and destinations, providing timely data to the operational team.
* Partnerships and Networking: refer to specialist services as needed, communicate with external agencies, involve parents where relevant, and attend parents\' evenings as required.
* Professionalism: comply with legislation and professional codes, safeguard young people, promote equality and diversity, reflect on practice, and engage in CPD.


Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a passion for careers guidance, experience in an information, advice and guidance setting (ideally with young people), and a relevant qualification. Essential and desirable criteria are listed below.


Essential

* Qualification in careers guidance (level 6 or above) or working towards Level 6.
* Experience in an IAG setting.
* IT literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other technology platforms.
* Ability to work to tight timelines and produce high-quality work under pressure.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple work streams with limited supervision.
* Confidence working across multiple educational settings and presenting to large groups.
* Proactive, innovative, and capable of anticipating and resolving issues.
* Attention to detail and numeracy with high standards for own work.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to build relationships with senior staff within schools.
* Keen to learn and develop new skills; collaborative team player aligned with the company mission.
* Awareness and compliance with GDPR; professional representation at events.


Desirable

* Flexible working includes potential occasional evenings.
* Experience creating learning resources and lesson planning.
* Existing registration on the CDI Professional Register.
* Strong networks and awareness of provision within the relevant geographical area.
