We are delighted to be recruiting for a Global Mobility Specialist who will be responsible for the end‑to‑end coordination, governance, and compliance of all global mobility activity across the organisation. The role exists to reduce risks, improve employee experience, and provide a single, consistent point of accountability for all cross‑border working arrangements, including long‑term assignments, short‑term assignments, business travel, visa compliance, and share plans for internationally mobile employees
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Global Mobility Governance & Framework
Act as the central point of contact for all global mobility matters, ensuring consistent application of policy, processes, and decision‑making across the Group.
Establish, document, and maintain end‑to‑end mobility processes for:
* Long‑term assignments
* Short‑term assignments
* International business travellers
* Cross‑border remote working
* Ensure all cross‑border working arrangements are identified, documented, approved, and notified on a timely basis.
Long‑Term Assignments
Coordinate all aspects of long‑term assignments, ensuring moves are:
* Fully compliant with tax, payroll, and immigration requirements
* Costed end‑to‑end (including tax equalisation, gross‑ups, and advisory fees)
* Aligned to the agreed global mobility policy & talent/workforce planning.
* Liaise with external advisors to ensure dual‑country employer and employee obligations are met.
* Track assignment duration, extensions, repatriation timelines, and compliance milestones,
* Maintain data for LTIPs
Short‑Term Assignments & Business Travellers
Implement and oversee central tracking of all international business travel and short‑term assignments. Review travel data monthly, cross‑referencing:
* Days worked in each jurisdiction
* Salary recharge destinations
* Ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax, payroll, and social security obligations arising from short‑term travel.
* Provide structured data to external advisors to enable correct tax filings and payroll treatment.
Tax, Payroll & Advisory Management
Act as primary liaison with the nominated global mobility advisory firm, coordinating advice across tax, payroll, and immigration. Ensure:
* PAYE / local payroll obligations are correctly identified and operated
* Modified PAYE or special arrangements are applied where required
* National Insurance and social security rules (e.g. A1 certificates) are followed correctly
Visa & Immigration Compliance
Coordinate and monitor all visa and right‑to‑work compliance activities, particularly for UK‑sponsored workers. Maintain accurate records and ensure:
* Employees are working in roles aligned to visa conditions
* Pay is correct for visa type
* Changes are reported to the Home Office where required
* Ongoing monitoring obligations are met
Risk Management, Reporting & Insight
Maintain oversight of global mobility risk exposure, including tax penalties, immigration risk, and audit readiness. Provide reporting on:
* Number and type of assignments
* Compliance status
* Indicative costs and financial exposure
* Support internal and external audits, including HMRC engagement where required.
KEY EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Essential
* Experience in global mobility, international HR, reward, payroll, or employment tax
Strong understanding of:
* Cross‑border tax and payroll principles
* Short‑term and long‑term assignment structures
* Immigration and right‑to‑work compliance (UK focus desirable)
