This role involves working across two hospital sites with flexible working as needed and using electronic patient records (training provided).

Responsibilities
* Provide an occupational therapy assessment and rehabilitation service to patients on Melton and Rutland wards.
* Autonomous practitioner: manage your own caseload, assess and treat patients, ensure safe and effective discharges, and adhere to professional standards and best practices.
* Build and nurture strong collaborative relationships with ward nursing, ACP, and AHP colleagues on the ward, as well as community colleagues in Adult Social Care and Community Therapy.
* Supervise and support therapy support workers and apprentices to develop their skills and knowledge.
* Support service development and contribute fresh ideas; collaborate with other OTs across Rutland, Melton, and community hospitals.
* Be flexible across two hospital sites and become proficient with electronic patient records (training provided).
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience: Inpatient OT experience at band 5 or band 6 is desirable but not essential; transferable skills considered.
* Skills: Functional assessments of the older adult; strong communication, teamwork, and a can-do approach.
* Patient group: Predominantly older adults in a physical sub-acute/rehab setting with conditions such as amputations, fractures, and frailty.
Impact and expectations: You will develop prioritisation and time management skills, and leadership abilities by supervising junior staff. You will work toward safe, effective discharges and maintain high professional standards.
