My client is a global market leading organization operating within a highly engineered manufacturing environment. The business is known for its operational excellence, strong engineering capability and customer-centric approach.
We are looking for a proactive individual to join our purchasing team. The candidate will be expected to support the purchasing process by completing administrative purchasing tasks, liaising with logistic partners on all varieties of freight and maintaining a good relationship with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
This is a full time role, based on site 5 days per week in West Bromwich.
Key Responsibilities
Management of suppliers & partners
* Progress chasing suppliers to ensure promised dates are adhered to
* Liaising with road freight suppliers to obtain the best service and price for European shipments
* Tracking European road freight and sea freight from the Far East, keeping our MRP/ERP system (Syteline) up to date with Live ETA’s
* Assisting with customs clearance activities for imports
* Assisting Buyer with Supplier performance tracking by sorting and presenting KPI Data
Purchasing and associated Admin
* Facilitating the ordering of packaging, stationery, and HSE equipment for the site
* Onsite Kanban Management
* Completing of associated purchasing documents, subcontract delivery notes, tooling delivery notes, etc
* Invoice Reconciliation
Required Skills & Experience
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Knowledge of purchasing processes and procedures.
* Knowledge of a manufacturing production process
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
* Ideally you will have a full driving licence (but this is not essential)
