Mental Health Worker – SEMH Setting in Littlehampton

Start: ASAP – Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only – Pay: £92.63–£100 per day – Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Mental Health Worker to join a specialist SEMH setting in Littlehampton, supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role involves working in a structured, nurturing, and supportive environment to help students access learning, regulate emotions, and develop both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
* Support students in the classroom and around the school
* Provide consistent 1:1 and small group support
* Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
* Promote engagement, independence, and learning
* Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to implement strategies and interventions
* Support behaviour management in a calm and consistent manner
* Promote emotional wellbeing, positive behaviour, and social development
* Follow all safeguarding procedures at all times
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviours (or willingness to learn)
* A patient, calm, and resilient approach
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* An understanding of behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
* A proactive and reliable attitude
* A genuine passion for supporting mental health and additional needs
