Health Care Assistant – Urgent Care Location: York
Contract: 6–12 months (with possible extensions)
Hours:
Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 18:00
Saturday: 08:00 – 13:00
Pay Rate: £16.13 per hour (umbrella)
Role Overview
Service Care Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join a busy Urgent Care team in York. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing essential clinical and administrative support to patients and clinicians.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform ECGs and phlebotomy (blood taking) accurately and efficiently.
* Carry out health checks, wound care, and wound dressing.
* Administer B12 injections as required.
* Assist clinicians in delivering high-quality patient care.
* Maintain accurate patient records using SystmOne.
* Ensure compliance with infection control and health & safety standards.
* Support patients with dignity, compassion, and professionalism.
* Complete administrative tasks related to patient care when required.
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant in a clinical setting.
* Competent in ECG and phlebotomy procedures.
* Must hold an NHS Smart Card.
* Proficient in using SystmOne.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
