Overview
Callicroft Primary Academy are looking to appoint two enthusiastic and passionate Teaching Assistants to join their team. The first position is offered on a temporary basis to cover a period of maternity leave until 3 July 2026 or earlier should the post holder return before this date. The second position is offered on a fixed term basis until 31 August 2026 as it is linked directly to funding. Hours for both positions are 28.33 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Actual working hours will be agreed with the Headteacher. The successful candidates will work term time only plus inset days.
This role involves working alongside class teachers to support and improve the academic progress of learners with special educational needs or disabilities. We are looking for a kind, dedicated and considerate Teaching Assistant who will have the energy and enthusiasm to support and nurture some of our most vulnerable learners.
Salary: Grade 10 £26,824 - £28,142 FTE (£17,665 - £18,533 pro-rata) per annum.
All candidates must have a good standard of general education, to include Maths and English at GCSE level 4 or above or equivalent qualification and NVQ3 for Teaching Assistants or other relevant experience and qualification. Responsibilities
* Support class teachers to improve the academic progress of learners with special educational needs or disabilities.
* Provide nurturing and energetic support to vulnerable learners in a classroom setting.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of individual education plans as required.
Qualifications
* Maths and English GCSE grade 4 or above or equivalent.
* NVQ3 for Teaching Assistants or other relevant experience/qualification.
