The Opportunity
This is a key appointment within the client’s Product Design team. You will function as the primary FEA specialist, reporting to the Engineering Manager. The work involves complex analysis of heavy plated structures, welded fabrications, and multi-jointed assemblies common in counter-mine and combat engineering products. We require a professional who thrives on providing definitive, data-driven insights that directly guide the engineering design process.
Essential Technical Skills
Candidates must demonstrate proven commercial experience in:
* Ansys Workbench, Mechanical, and Spaceclaim.
* FEA of heavy structures, welded joints, and bolted assemblies.
* Strong theoretical command of solid mechanics and stress analysis fundamentals.
* Experience with 3D CAD and PDM systems.
* Prior experience within the Defence or heavily regulated, safety-critical sectors.
* At least 4 years of professional engineering experience
