To support our continuing growth, we are looking for 2 enthusiastic, hard-working and friendly colleagues to join our team producing our award-winning Pates, Dips and other ready to eat food.
Working across our High Care and Prep Kitchens, the successful candidates will ensure that all of our products are produced to the highest standards. In addition to duties in our kitchens, you may from time to time also get involved in packing and presentation of products. Unlike many other companies, we work only Monday to Fridays with NO backshifts and NO nightshifts.
Key duties and responsibilities
* Accurately match ingredients to recipes, using the appropriate weighing and measuring equipment
* Prepare ingredients to the highest standards, ensuring accuracy and that all food safety requirements are met
* Ensure that all recipes are followed exactly, and the associated paperwork is accurately completed
* Use a range of kitchen equipment in a safe and responsible manner
* Assist in the cleaning of all kitchen areas during, and at the end of daily production
* Raise any discrepancies in a timely manner, using knowledge and initiative and escalating to a Team Leader as appropriate
* At all times work in a safe manner, and consistently adhere to Health and Safety processes and guidelines
* Safely move ingredients and finished product to and from chills and freezers, as directed by your Team Leader
* Assist in ensuring that all finished products and ingredients are correctly labelled
* Assist in ensuring that the dates on products being dispatched are accurate
* Assist with packaging and dispatch of products as required
* Flexibly take on any additional tasks required by the business

Essential Knowledge and Experience Required
* Proven experience of food handling in a similar environment
* Be confident working in a kitchen environment
* An understanding of Health and Safety appropriate to this role
* The ability to work well within a team
* Able to pay close attention to detail and follow instructions precisely
* Comfortable working in a chilled environment
Desirable Knowledge and Experience Required
* Comfortable entering basic information into computer
* Experience of working in a food production environment
Salary:
£13.00 per hour start rate (including 70p/hour attendance bonus), rising to £13.50 after completion of basic training (typically 3 months).
Further rises of up to £15.25 per hour with skills training. Those with previous skills that can be applied in our environment can progress quickly.
We also pay various performance dependent bonuses.
(18 to 22 year old's are paid at the above rates.)
