We have an exciting opportunity available for a Water Technician (Environmental) to join our team in Glasgow. You will join us on a full time, Permanent basis. We engineer, manage and optimise smart spaces and places leveraging emerging technologies for our customers that improve where people work, learn and live.
About the role :
To provide Legionella PPM and associated works to various commercial and industrial contracts
Duties :
To carry out the following works in accordance with the requirements of ACOP L8, BS6700 and the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations:-
· Hot and cold water temperature monitoring
·Shower head cleans and disinfections
· Calorifier base flushing/calorifier temperatures, including flow and return
· Calorifier internal inspections
· Water sampling
· Tank and down water services disinfections/chlorination
· Dead-leg removal
· Cooling tower clean and disinfections
· Drawing of water systems schematics and the preparation and completion of job sheets
· TMV Testing
· Improvements/upgrading of domestic systems to fall within A.C.O.P L8 guidelines
· Conducting Legionella Risk Assessments and carrying out monitoring for the control of legionella
· Additional duties such as inspections of water storage tanks, hot water boilers and air conditioning systems
The knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience relevant to the position are:
Essential
* Sound understanding of requirements under Health and Safety Legislation
* Use of PDA and computer literate
* A good mechanical aptitude
* Ability to interface with people, including clients, at all levels
* Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise tasks
* Ability to be a self starter within a team environment and lone working
* Must be capable of working in confined spaces/at height
* Background in legionella Control with several years’ experience in site monitoring and testing
* Understand all the legal requirements
* Must live in Central area, Scotland or willing to relocate
Desirable
· Water sampling and testing experience
· Knowledge of Pool plant and equipment
