As a staff nurse on the ward, you will play an important part in patients' recovery. Working as part of the multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to use and develop key skills, providing holistic assessment and patient care. You will be responsible for contributing to care, observing, monitoring, and recording patients' progress, whilst communicating and managing effectively any changes in their condition and planning their safe discharge. Liaising with external partners and patients' families is a very important part of the role.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Safe and effective review and referral to the appropriate member of the multidisciplinary team
2. Effective delegation and prioritization of workload
3. Professional development as required to maintain area of practice, and as negotiated in supervision
4. An awareness of health, safety, and security risks
5. Engagement in service provision and change
