We’re looking for an exceptional Compliance and Ethics Business Partner to join our Legal Team, based in Cambridge. Reporting to the Chief Legal and Business Affairs Officer. The role ensures that CMR Surgical has the right practices in place to facilitate compliance with laws, internal controls and company policy, including our Code of Conduct. Responsibilities Support the Legal Counsel in building and managing a Compliance and Ethics programme, including but not limited to data protection and privacy, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, non-promotional engagement, transparency in supply chains, research and education, etc. Design and deliver Compliance and Ethics training as part of the programme to various audiences, Coordinate monitoring of company and third-party activities, including, for example, review of individual payments or transfers of value to healthcare professionals (HCPs) and healthcare organisations (HCOs) Proactively initiate continuous improvement activities and innovations within the team’s processes. Subject matter expert in one or more areas. Takes full technical ownership of project / programme deliverables, provides leadership and helps drive long term strategy. Fully capable of designing, owning and running new novel systems and processes Drives the function strategy in collaboration with the Function Leadership Team. Leads, manages and steers programmes of deliverables with evidence of successful delivery Identifies problems, improves existing processes and establishes new cross company processes. Leads, reviews and generates high quality cross company documentation and/or reports, guiding and coaching others when needed Understands cross company risk management activities and impact on CMR. Works cross company to ensue consistent continuous improvement. Looks beyond the requirements of own role to offer suggestions for improvements of overall company objectives. Leads and demonstrates collaboration across functions and with and external contractors, suppliers and agencies to achieve all deliverable targets. Communicates clearly, proactively across teams, functions, Company and with external stakeholders and adapts communication style as required, is aware of personal and cultural impact and considers different opinions, behaviours and cultural norms and personality differences. Phrases ideas in a way that avoids negative reactions. Provides and encourages the expression of diverse ideas and opinions. About you To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have/be: Experience in a similar role in the medical devices or pharmaceutical industry or in a healthcare environment Proven experience and expertise in at least one of the following areas and knowledge of, or exposure to, the other areas: - Compliance around and industry-standard ethical rules relating to handling of patient related data protection and privacy - Anti-Bribery and Corruption compliance in the context of a global commercial organisation - Industry-standard ethical rules relating to handling of patient-related data and relationships with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and Healthcare Organisations (HCOs) A broad understanding and appreciation of how compliance and ethics programmes should operate Experience with using a Compliance Management System or similar framework for making applicable laws, regulations and policies accessible to those whom they concern The ability to get up to speed quickly and effectively build relationships between Compliance and Ethics and other areas of the organisation Effective communications skills, with experience of presenting plans in a clear and pragmatic way to colleagues and stakeholders across all levels, Desire and determination to champion Compliance and Ethics company-wide, including training and/or coaching skills, Being computer literate is essential, as well as good written and verbal English.
