Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our inpatient rehabilitation team at Forest Close.
You will be joining a supportive therapy team of psychologists, CAPS, assistant psychologists, and music therapists working at Forest Close. The successful candidate will be based across 3 wards at Forest Close. You will play a key role in supporting and implementing compassionate, high-quality, evidence-based care, with opportunities to innovate and influence. You will develop your formulation and consultation skills alongside direct clinical work, service development, and leadership. The post is suitable for a candidate with experience and interest in working with people with complex mental health difficulties within an MDT. We will support your ongoing development through CPD, supervision, and service development.
Main duties of the job
The role suits a candidate experienced and interested in working with individuals with severe, chronic, and complex mental health issues within a multidisciplinary team, offering both direct and indirect work with service users, families, carers, and staff.
You will be involved in team formulation, reflective practice, teaching & training, and will have a significant role as part of the senior leadership team at Forest Close. Psychology roles are highly valued, and a positive, team-oriented approach is essential.
* Provide specialist psychological assessments, formulations, and evidence-based short-term interventions for individuals and/or families with complex psychological problems, including psychosis and trauma.
* Offer clinical leadership to support a trauma-informed, least restrictive environment, including staff decision-making and indirect support via team formulation, reflective practice, and supervision.
* Provide clinical supervision to Trainee Clinical Psychologists, Clinical Associate Psychologists, and Assistant Psychologists.
* Ensure clinical effectiveness through research and development activities relevant to inpatient rehabilitation.

Qualifications
* Post-graduate, doctoral-level training in clinical psychology accredited by HCPC/BPS
* Registration with HCPC as a Clinical Psychologist
Experience
* Experience working with diverse service user groups across the lifespan, with varying severity
* Ability to work with individuals presenting complex psychological issues
* Effective teamwork in multidisciplinary settings
Desirable
* Experience in inpatient settings

* Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check: Mandatory due to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975.
