We are looking for a motivational, student-centred Careers Advisor to join our inclusive and supportive college community.
About the Role
As a Careers Advisor, you will play a vital role in preparing students for life beyond college.
You will: Develop a calendar of activities that actively promote all progression routes and engages young people to be proactive in their progression journey. Plan and deliver a range of engaging progression and employability activities, including workshops and CV clinics. Contribute to the Tutor programme of activities so that progression is central to the college experience. Deliver impartial, personalised careers advice and guidance to a diverse student body. Work closely with students on one-to-one and group bases to support progression to university, employment, apprenticeships, or other training pathways. Collaborate with teaching staff, external partners, and local employers to provide meaningful experiences of the workplace.

The ideal candidate will have: Experience in careers education, guidance, or student support in an educational or youth setting. A Level 6 qualification in Careers Information and Guidance. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with young people. A proactive, flexible approach and strong organisational skills.

Salary: Scale Range £29,544–£31,324 FTE)
Actual Salary: Scale Point 14 £

Key Responsibilities
To provide excellent Careers Information and Guidance activities for individuals and small groups.
Provide up to date 1:1 Careers interviews that outlines all possible avenues of progression in line with LMI.
Provide innovative small group workshops that addresses key transferable and employability skills.
Develop a calendar of activities that actively promote all progression routes and engages young people to be proactive in their progression journey.
Plan and deliver a range of engaging progression and employability activities, including workshops and CV clinics.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
GCSE/ Level 2 equivalent Maths and English
Level 6 CIAG (or L4 CIA for candidates with experience)
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage students, staff, and parents effectively Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
