Join the enthusiastic and ambitious Department of Computing at the University of Worcester as a Lecturer in Information Systems. The Department is within the expanding Worcester Business School at the City Campus, experiencing growth in student numbers for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. We seek an experienced Lecturer to enhance our team.
Our goal is to be an outstanding institution offering excellent learning and teaching environments. We provide professionally relevant courses, informed by industry needs and delivered through experiential learning. Our curriculum is inspired by contemporary research, fostering knowledge, skills, critical thinking, and innovation.
The Department conducts research in themes like Machine Learning, Data Science, Intelligent Systems, Computing in Education, and Cyber Security, with the Digital Innovation and Intelligent Systems Research Group.
The ideal candidate will hold a Masters in Computer Science or related field and possess contemporary knowledge or professional experience in areas such as:
* Business and Management Information Systems / Business Intelligence
* Information Systems Design and Development
* Information Security / Cyber Security
* Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence
* IT Consulting and Project Management
Contract and Research Support: The school offers support for research-active staff, including mentoring, research allowances, and a 3-year support package for ECRs. To be eligible for a standard academic contract, candidates should hold or be within 12 months of completing a PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
The successful candidate will develop courses for our Computing undergraduate and postgraduate programs and contribute to research and knowledge exchange activities.
